DesignCrowd.ca and Canadian Entrepreneur Break Crowdsourcing Record
SYDNEY, Aug. 8, 2012 /CNW/ – Sydney, Australia – design crowdsourcing site DesignCrowd.ca has set a new crowdsourcing record helping a Canadian entrepreneur crowdsource over 5,000 logo ideas.
A Canadian entrepreneur and client of DesignCrowd.ca, has received over 5,000 entries to a logo contest setting a new record for online logo crowdsourcing. TimesSquare.com – founded by Canadian entrepreneur Lorenzo Tartamella – offered $10,000 to crowdsource a new logo on DesignCrowd.ca has received 5,706 logo designs.
DesignCrowd CEO Alec Lynch said, “We believe TimesSquare.com’s $10,000 prize was the largest ever for an online logo contest and the first time an online logo crowdsourcing has received over 5,000 submissions for a client. The project is a fantastic case study in crowdsourcing and really highlights the power and creativity of the crowd.”
The contest received 5,706 submissions from 1,319 designers which included top design agencies. The client average cost of a design idea was $1.75 per design.
