Latino small business owners counter ‘You didn’t build that’ — with RNC help
What was left out of the President’s speech during his campaign stop in Roanoke, Virginia has become a trademark for Republicans to make inroads with Latinos and swing voters.

The president’s infamous “If you’ve got a business—you didn’t build that,” line on July 17 went viral within hours.
In the framework of what the president said, Republican National Committee chairman Reince Preibus said last week that these four words carry an emotional undertone for small business owners of all demographics.
“President Obama believes hardworking entrepreneurs ‘didn’t build that’ and owe their success to government. He thinks government can take anything it wants from small businesses,” Preibus said in a statement.
Much of what Preibus describes may hit home for many Latinos who are expected to be
key for the president’s reelection in November. Romney’s campaign has scheduled 24 events titled, “We did build that” in several states including Florida, where the predominant Puerto Rican swing vote is expected to be crucial.
