After a summer hiatus, the monthly event returned this week with new co-sponsors, a new venue and an even bigger crowd.

More than 100 small-business owners showed up Tuesday at McCharacters Music CafĂ© and Sports Pub in the St. Joe Plaza on Palm Coast Parkway to exchange ideas and business cards and get some networking done in a social setting. And that’s exactly what Ekinci had in mind.

“I’m very excited,” Ekinci said as the crowd grew. “We totally missed it over the summer and I think folks missed it.”

Along with his company, Office Divvy, and the Palm Coast Business Assistance Center, Ekinci said Intracoastal Bank and Mitchell Noel Insurance also have signed on as sponsors for the grassroots event.

Ekinci said the move to McCharacters was designed to broaden opportunities for local businesses to get involved with Entrepreneur Night. Previous Entrepreneur Night events had been staged at the European Village complex on Palm Harbor Parkway, and the event will return there next month.

“European Village has been tremendous,” Ekinci said. “Each and every owner there is a true entrepreneur.”

Ekinci said the event’s growth is proof that there are budding entrepreneurs out there and he sees Entrepreneur Night continuing to get bigger. But he is wary of things
